Dear Flickr friends, I apologize that I have been unable to comment and visit your streams much lately due to work and photography shows, and our dear friend Dusty died suddenly this last Tuesday. Here she is in a photo taken when we had just adopted her and she was very intrigued by the wild chickadees and nuthatches and other birds that come to our feeder. (We told her very firmly a few times that she mustn't hunt them .... and she listened to us. Besides being sweet and beautiful, she was a very smart little cat and would listen very carefully to what you said to her.) She was a beautiful Maine Coon cat, the last of the lineage of wonderful Maine Coon stray kitties we adopted when they arrived in our forest place, looking for a home in 1991. You were a wonderful friend. We gave you ! a home when your people who had cared for you since you were a kitten - for 15 good years - had to move to a place that wouldn't accept cats and we are so glad we adopted you. We are sad however that we only had one short year with you before you died suddenly of cancer to your trachea. Luckily you didn't suffer and you were lucky to die peacefully in your favorite friend Peter's loving arms. Your grandmother Mama Kitty whom we lost last year, was also dearly loved.
